Overview
My role involved assisted the wider team with product requests and providing planning and support for the EMEA lifestyle and performance teams. A main day to day job included talent servicing, placing product orders for seeding requests for EMEA ambassadors, alongside managing a seeding program across accounts, and working on a growing seeding list / PR opportunities for each product drop, coordinating lists with numbers of pairs of shoes available.
Skills
I have developed my communication and networking skills - as my role involved working with different people across the business. I have also built on my confidence and presentation skills as this was another key part in my role.
Responsibilities
Yes lot's of responsibilities - it felt like a full time job, rather than an internship, which has really prepared me for full time work after university.
Support & Guidance
A lot. The team at New Balance were very supportive and always wanted me to make the most out of my experience. I had regular discussions with my team about my progression.
Culture
Great - there was always lots going on inside and outside of the office.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement. I felt like I got a lot out of my experience and learnt so much along the way. Although I was working a full time job, I had a lot of fun and had so many amazing opportunities to get involved in, which I am extremely grateful for.
Yes
It is an amazing experience and I would recommend it to any students applying to do a placement! You definitely get out of it what you put in, by working hard and putting a lot of effort into day-to-day tasks, there are lot's of rewards and opportunities to get involved in.
